Crown reduction is a pruning technique used to control the size of the tree while still being able to maintain the structure and shape of the crown. This is done by focusing on reducing the height off the tree and shortening the side lateral branches leaving the tree with the best shape.

Crown thinning involves removing inner branches evenly to reduce the density of the canopy to allow light to travel through and better air circulation. Which will reduce die back to inner branches. This will not have any effect on the trees natural shape.

Crown lifting is the removal of the lower branches to lift the height of the crowns base. This will give better clearance between the ground and lower branches.

Dead wooding involves the removal of any dead branches with in the tree. This can occur from lack of sunlight, pests, disease and damage to the roots.

Felling can only be carried out with significant space around this is where the tree is cut at the base and dropped to the ground. Removal is carried out when trees are in a more confined space to felling this is done by safely climbing the tree with rope and harness and dismantling down the limbs in sections sometimes extra equipment is needed such a rigging gear this will allow us to control the branches down to the ground to avoid obstructions and damaging the ground. When a tree is not safe to climb a platform may be needed for safety.

Hedge trimming needs to carried out frequently when hedges are established to encourage new growth and maintain density. This can be to your required height and shape keeping them looking tidy within your boundaries. Hedge removal can be necessary when hedges have gotten to big or staring to die back in places making them unsafe which can no longer be maintained which leaves no alternative than removal.

Stump grinding is were the stump is ground down using a propelled disc machine cutting away at the stump and roots down below ground level making it look like the tree has never been there.

Garden clearance can be necessary when trees and shrubs have been left unattended for some time and the garden needs to be cleared this can be done by removing any unwanted trees and shrubs an removing the stumps from the ground to allow you to re plant or landscape the area.

Pollarding is a method of pruning that keeps the trees and shrubs smaller than they would naturally grow. This is generally carried out when the trees and shrubs have gotten to large for there location. This can be carried out yearly to maintain the tree. Only certain trees can be pollarded.
